The Faculty of Business & Information Technology (FBIT) at Ontario Tech University invites applications for an Assistant Teaching Professor in Network and IT Security. This position is subject to budgetary approval, and would start on July 1, 2026, or as soon as it is filled.
Applicants must possess a graduate university degree in IT Security and/or Networking or a related field. Industry experience and certification in IT security and/or networking will be considered an asset. The ideal candidate will bring extensive teaching or industry experience in the area. Examples of courses that the applicant may be asked to teach include, but not limited to:
- Cryptography and Network Security
- Operating System Security
- System and Network Administration
- Identity and Access Control
- Secure Software Systems
- IT Forensics
- IT Security Policies and Procedures
- Penetration Testing
- Security DevOps
- Advanced Network Security
- Data Centre Design
- Advanced and Software-Defined Networking
- Computer Architecture
Candidates must demonstrate outstanding teaching experience or strong potential for being an outstanding teacher, especially at the undergraduate level. Experience teaching in a Canadian post-secondary environment is desirable.
This position falls within the bargaining unit represented by the UOIT Faculty Association and will be subject to the terms and conditions of the collective agreement between the University and the UOIT Faculty Association. Starting salary will be commensurate with experience and annual salary increases are administered as per the terms outlined in the collective agreement.
