We are seeking a hands-on, solutions-driven Director of Finance with extensive hospitality industry experience to help stabilize, optimize, and lead the financial operations of a 36-room hotel as it transitions from its opening phase into long-term performance and operational excellence.</p><hr />Key Responsibilities<ul><li><p>Financial Leadership & Strategy</p><ul><li><p>Serve as the senior-most finance leader on property, reporting directly to the General Manager.</p></li><li><p>Lead financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and reporting activities.</p></li><li><p>Partner closely with Corporate Finance and ownership on reporting and strategic initiatives.</p></li></ul></li><li><p>Operational Finance Management</p><ul><li><p>Oversee all accounting functions including AP, payroll (via Accounting Manager), and financial controls.</p></li><li><p>Develop and implement robust financial processes, controls, and systems tailored to a lean, agile hospitality environment.</p></li><li><p>Provide hands-on support in day-to-day accounting tasks as needed—this is not a desk-only role.</p></li></ul></li><li><p>Team Management & Development</p><ul><li><p>Manage and mentor the Accounting Manager and AP Clerk.</p></li><li><p>Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within a young team.</p></li></ul></li><li><p>Systems Optimization & Process Improvement</p><ul><li><p>Identify and implement opportunities to improve existing systems and workflows.</p></li><li><p>Establish procedures and best practices where few may currently exist.</p></li><li><p>Drive tech and tool adoption with an entrepreneurial mindset.</p></li></ul></li></ul><hr />Qualifications<ul><li><p>CPA designation is mandatory</p></li><li><p>Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident</p></li><li><p>Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive experience in hotel finance, with at least 2 years in a senior leadership role such as Director of Finance or very strong Assistant Director of Finance</p></li><li><p>Proven ability to lead in an environment with minimal existing infrastructure</p></li><li><p>Previous experience working in hospitality and hotel operations is non-negotiable</p></li><li><p>Entrepreneurial spirit and comfort with ambiguity and change</p></li><li><p>Strong communication, leadership, and business partnership skills</p></li><li><p>Experience in F&B-heavy environments is a strong asset</p></li><li><p>Willingness to relocate from another province (relocation assistance provided)</p></li></ul><hr />What We Offer<ul><li><p>Salary: $160,000–$165,000 CAD</p></li><li><p>Bonus: Up to 20%</p></li><li><p>Vacation: 3 weeks</p></li><li><p>Benefits: Comprehensive health and wellness package</p></li><li><p>RSP Matching Program</p></li><li><p>Relocation support (if required)</p></li></ul></p></p></p>Browse Jobs in Canada by City
