By offering a complete Structural, Miscellaneous, and Custom Metal Fabrication solution, we strive to make the building process less complicated.</p><p><br /></p><p>Estimator</p><p>The Estimators job is to review project plans, specifications, and related documents to figure out the costs for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractors. They are responsible for creating detailed cost estimates, taking part in the bidding process, and helping ensure projects are successfully won and carried out.</p><p></p><p>Reporting to: Sales Manager</p><p></p><p>Key Responsibilities</p><ul><li>Maintain effective communication and documentation throughout the estimating and project lifecycle.</li><li>Process construction documents and solicit quotes from vendors promptly.</li><li>Prepare estimates, including costs for materials, labor, and equipment, ensuring accuracy.</li><li>Review solicitation documents to identify and capture the complete scope of work.</li><li>Identify missing information or scopes in solicitation documents and submit RFIs (Requests for Information) as needed.</li><li>Present estimates and bid proposals effectively during bid review meetings.</li><li>Participate in kick-off meetings, providing scope statements, deliverables, assumptions, and exclusions.</li><li>Coordinate with various internal teams and stakeholders to ensure all requirements and cost information are aligned.</li><li>Utilize feedback and cost data from previous projects to adjust estimates and refine future costing strategies.</li><li>Stay updated with current material and labor costs to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.</li><li>Consult with department heads to validate labor, materials, and equipment requirements.</li><li>Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers, anticipating their needs and providing exceptional service.</li><li>Act as a brand ambassador, demonstrating the companys values in all customer interactions.</li><li>Use software tools effectively, including Bluebeam, Powerfab, and Excel.</li><li>Analyze project requirements and critically think through problems to find practical solutions.</li><li>Provide insight and recommendations for improving the estimating process based on lessons learned from past projects.</li></ul><p></p><p>The Ideal Candidate Will Have:</p><ul><li>3-5 years experience in estimating, preferably in the construction, steel, or metal industries and/or background education in civic engineering or business analytics.</li><li>Knowledge and experience in preparing estimates for steel structures, miscellaneous metals, and site logistics.</li><li>Strong understanding of construction documents and the ability to extract and interpret project details.</li><li>Intermediate computer and typing skills possessing the ability use shortcuts for tasks, ensuring efficiency.</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise emails, proposals, and documentation.</li><li>Detail-oriented with the ability to work methodically and maintain accurate records.</li><li>Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.</li><li>Willingness to learn, grow, and adapt in the role.</li><li>Ability to ask questions and seek clarification when unsure to ensure work accuracy.</li><li>Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners.</li><li>Willingness to take direction from manager and contribute to team success.</li><li>Positive attitude and willingness to support colleagues in various departments.</li></ul></p></p>
