This role is essential in ensuring that our facilities, buildings, and surrounding grounds are safe, clean, and well-maintained. The ideal candidate is hands-on, proactive, and experienced in general maintenance, custodial duties, and minor repairs.</p><p></p><p>Key Responsibilities</p><ul><li>Perform general maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of buildings and grounds.</li><li>Assist with electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry tasks, excluding major trades work.</li><li>Maintain clean and presentable facilities, ensuring a welcoming environment for staff, residents, and visitors.</li><li>Respond to maintenance requests, troubleshoot issues, and complete minor repairs.</li><li>Support the setup and breakdown of events and meetings.</li><li>Ensure compliance with safety protocols and procedures.</li><li>Work collaboratively with other staff to uphold the Missions standards and values.</li><li>Other duties as assigned.</li></ul><p>What You Bring</p><ul><li>Experience in facility maintenance, building repairs, or a related field.</li><li>Knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical systems.</li><li>Ability to operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.</li><li>Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.</li><li>Willingness to work in all weather conditions and respond to emergency situations.</li><li>First Aid Level 1 and WHMIS certification (or willingness to obtain).</li><li>A commitment to the values and mission of Ruth & Naomis Mission.</li></ul><p>Why Join Us?</p><ul><li>Be part of a mission-driven organization making a tangible impact in Chilliwack.</li><li>Employer-paid extended health benefits after probation.</li><li>RRSP matching program.</li><li>Education sponsorship opportunities.</li><li>A collaborative and supportive work environment.</li></ul><p>This position reports to the Maintenance Manager - work is conducted across all Ruth and Naomi&#39;s facilities in Chilliwack BC.
