We are looking to add a Frontend AI Engineer to our Web Team to join in the development of adding exciting new features to our global anycast DNS service controld.com, as well as collaborate in the execution of a complete overhaul of the windscribe.com web interface used by millions of users.

About the Role

As a Frontend AI Engineer, you'll design and deliver high-quality, intuitive, and performant web interfaces that delight end users. You'll leverage modern AI-assisted development tools to ship elegant solutions quickly and efficiently. The focus is on simplicity, speed, and quality — improving both individual and team velocity through AI-driven workflows, ensuring consistent release cycles with minimal bugs, regressions, and rapid turnaround times.

Responsibilities
  • 4+ years of experience in frontend development
  • Recently transitioned to Next.js and modern frameworks
  • Leverage AI tools to accelerate product and domain understanding
  • Write performant, maintainable code with clear documentation
  • Partner closely with design to resolve issues before implementation
  • Identify and propose solutions for UX/UI improvements
  • Prioritize simplicity and quick resolution during code reviews
  • Think critically and challenge requirements to ensure quality outcomes
  • Translate business goals into actionable product roadmaps
  • Demonstrate successful workflows and share learnings with the team
  • Collaborate to efficiently delegate and track project deliverables
  • Ensure on-time, high-quality release cycles
  • Contribute to all phases: coding, testing, debugging, and iteration
  • Develop internal tools to automate or streamline repetitive workflows
Qualifications

Must-Haves

  • Must be based near EST time zone and available to work Eastern Time hours (Canada, US, Europe preferred)
  • Excellent knowledge of browser security practices (CSRF, CORS, etc)
  • Excellent knowledge of computer science fundamentals (stack, heap, pointers, data structures, algorithms, etc)
  • Excellent knowledge of web technologies and tools like JavaScript, TypeScript, React (or similar modern framework)
  • Understanding of software design principles and ability to write clear, clean, maintainable code that scales
  • Experience with NextJS (Gatsby would be a nice to have)
  • Experience investigating and improving JavaScript performance
  • Good understanding of web and networking protocols (HTTP, TLS, TCP/IP, DNS, etc)
  • Experience with web performance best practices (Caching, SSR vs SSG)

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience maintaining open source software
  • Experience with building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with Grafana
  • Experience with Directus
