<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p><p>The Glass Operations Assistant will report directly to the Glass Operations Supervisor and will be responsible for performing a variety of production and quality tasks to support glass operations.</p><p><strong><br />KEY RESPONSIBILITIES</strong><br />Operate legacy dryer and slag milling equipment.<br />Package 1000 kg bulk bags of products via bulk bag loading system (both legacy and glass sections).<br />Package 25 kg bags of bulk products using a saddle to pallet system.<br />Maintain clean and organized warehouses.<br />Load customer product pick-ups (both legacy infrastructure and glass products).<br />Unload material deliveries.<br />Report any inconsistencies or issues.<br />Monitor quality and record general production information.<br />Adhere to safety, environmental, and operating procedures.<br />Clean the plant as needed (including both glass and legacy sections).<br />Operate forklift and scissor lift.<br />Operate front-end loader for material and waste transfer.<br />Work at heights using fall protection equipment.<br />Safely operate all equipment used in the abrasives production area.<br />Maintain peak production performance.<br />Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all production operations.<br />Operate equipment from control panels.<br />Sample and analyze finished products according to quality procedures.<br />Record and confirm daily production data.<br />Assist in training new employees.<br />Be available for shift work if required.<br />Report non-conformities to management.<br />Assist in investigating customer complaints.<br />Maintain written quality records.<br />Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with management and through email.<br />Use and maintain small tools.<br />Keep tools and equipment clean.<br />Perform other duties as assigned by plant management.<br /><strong><br />SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE</strong><br />Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.<br />Previous experience in a production or manufacturing environment.<br />Ability to work both in a team and independently.<br />Capable of following a production plan while working independently.<br />Experience operating a forklift, loader, and scissor lift is preferred.<br />Basic math skills are required.<br />Strong verbal and written communication skills.<br><br><strong>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS</strong><br />Ability to stand, walk, climb, and have mobility of hands and fingers; handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear.<br />Frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
