Position Title: Industrial Designer.
Location: Mississauga, ON (fulltime onsite position).

Position Overview:
Are you a SolidWorks wizard who lives and breathes product development from concept through production? We're seeking a hands-on industrial designer to lead the end-to-end design of cutting-edge consumer loudspeakers. You'll collaborate with engineers, acousticians, and manufacturing partners to turn sketches into fully detailed, factory-ready models. Your deep 3D modeling skills and knack for engineering documentation will ensure flawless handoffs from virtual prototypes to physical products. If optimizing designs for injection molding, sheet metal and CNC machining gets your blood pumping, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop concept sketches and translate them into parametric SolidWorks assemblies with clear feature trees and configurations.
  • Generate detailed 2D drawings complete with dimensions, tolerances, GD&T callouts, and bill of materials.
  • Collaborate with acoustics and electronics teams to integrate drivers, grilles, enclosures, and internal mounts.
  • Partner with manufacturing suppliers to iterate designs for cost-effective tooling and high-volume production.
  • Maintain version control, naming conventions, and design libraries for smooth cross-functional collaboration.
  • Participate in user research and usability testing to inform design decisions and improve the user experience.
  • Prepare and deliver clear and compelling presentations to stakeholders, communicating design intent and project status.
  • Stay current with industry trends, new materials, and manufacturing technologies to inform design innovation.


Qualifications/Requirements:
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in industrial design, with a portfolio demonstrating a strong understanding of the product development process from ideation to production.
  • Experience designing consumer electronics and/or power electronics products a major asset.
  • Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks including surfacing, complex assemblies, and design tables..
  • Track record of producing engineering-grade drawings and documentation ready for manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of material properties, injection molding, sheet metal and CNC processes.
  • Excellent cross-functional communication skills with a proactive, detail-oriented approach.
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design or a related field an asset.
  • A strong eye for aesthetics, form, and detail, with a solid understanding of ergonomics and user-centered design principles.
  • Experience with FEA tools to validate structural an asset.
  • Familiarity with rendering software such as KeyShot or Blender for high-impact visuals.
  • Background in rapid prototyping and additive manufacturing techniques a plus.
