<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p><p><strong>ABOUT THIS CAREER OPPORTUNITY </strong></p><p>Black & McDonald is currently seeking an Journeyman Plumber to join our Service Division in Yorkton, SK! If you are a hands-on, customer service-oriented, and technically inclined professional searching for the opportunity to build a solid foundation for your career, this position is for you. The Journeyman Plumber position is located in Yorkton, SK and will report directly to the Service Supervisor.</p><p>The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, a great attitude, and a genuine passion for the trade. Journeyman Plumbers are required to be skilled in all manner of pipe joining methods; comfortable with the use of common industry specific hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic tools; and adept at reading and interpreting technical literature. Day to day work may sometimes require long hours and lifting heavy loads.</p><p>B&M is committed continuous improvement and will endeavor to provide all training necessary to maintain the health and safety of our staff and support career development wherever possible.</p><p><strong>Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:</strong></p><ul><li>Under the direction of the site foreman: move/haul material, pull water lines, fire caulking, thread pipe and assist with any other tasks required.</li><li>Journeyman Plumber will independently: thread pipe, install laundry boxes, with supervision: begin drainage, soldering, assembling tub valves and assist with any other tasks required.</li><li>Perform other duties as required.</li><li>Participation in rotating 24/7 emergency on call supports.</li></ul><p><strong>COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS</strong></p><ul><li>Communicates Effectively</li><li>Continuous Learning</li><li>Customer Focus</li><li>Problem Solving and Innovation</li><li>Values and Respects Others</li></ul><p><strong>EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS</strong></p><ul><li>Red Seal Plumbing Trade Qualification</li><li>B-Gas Certification</li><li>Cross Connection Control Certification</li><li>A-Gas Certification is considered an asset.</li><li>WHIMIS, SCOTT, R&R, Mobile Aerial Platform Training, Fall Protection Training, Confined Space Training is considered an asset.</li></ul><p><strong>WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS</strong></p><ul><li>Relevant Industry Experience (Required)</li><li>Consideration may be given to those who do not possess all the above requirements if they are able demonstrate a strong work ethic, passion for the trade, and a desire to learn.</li></ul><p><strong>SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS</strong></p><ul><li>Clean Class 5 SK Driver&#39;s License and abstract</li><li>Mechanical aptitude</li><li>Strength, stamina, and the use of proper lifting techniques required to handle heavy tools and parts weighing up to 25 kilograms</li><li>Ability to visualize a finished product from a document</li><li>Ability to stand for long periods of time and do some moderately heavy lifting and carrying</li><li>Ability to work in high, awkward, and noisy places</li><li>Ability to work alone or with others</li><li>The ability to contribute to a highly team-oriented environment</li><li>Strong communication skills</li></ul><p>Black & McDonald welcomes and encourages applications from persons with disabilities.
