Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated Junior IT Support Technician to join our growing IT department. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on technical work, troubleshooting hardware and software, and supporting a diverse user base in a dynamic construction environment.
You'll work closely with our Senior IT Administrator, Network Engineer, and in-house Developers to ensure seamless operations across job sites, field offices, and corporate locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Level 1 technical support for end users (Windows, Office 365, printers, mobile devices).
- Set up and maintain user accounts, workstations, laptops, and mobile phones through Intune and Azure AD.
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding employees, ensuring all access and assets are properly managed.
- Support jobsite connectivity including trailer setups, network switches, access points, and cameras.
- Maintain and document IT inventory, asset tags, and software licensing.
- Escalate complex issues to senior IT staff when needed.
- Help with software installations, updates, and patch management.
- Participate in hardware refreshes, imaging, and equipment upgrades.
- Provide friendly, customer-focused service to employees both on-site and remotely.
Qualifications
- 1-2 years of IT support experience (internship, co-op, or helpdesk role ideal).
- College diploma or certificate in Information Technology, Networking, or Computer Systems.
- Familiarity with: Microsoft 365, Intune, Azure AD, SharePoint; Windows 10/11 administration; Printers, scanners, and network devices; Basic networking (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS)
- Excellent communication and troubleshooting skills.
- Valid Ontario driver's license (some travel to job sites required).
- Construction industry experience or interest is an asset.
