You’ll join our <b>technical specifications </b>team and learn directly from a Senior Specification Writer. </p><p>This is a <b>remote role for candidates legally entitled to work in Canada</b>.</p><p>You’ll produce accurate, compliant specifications to <b>CSI/CSC</b> requirements using <b>MasterFormat, SectionFormat, and PageFormat</b>. Expect hands-on writing, client contact, and deadlines that sharpen your craft. The payoff is accelerated learning and exposure to Canadian and US projects.</p><p><b>This is what you’ll be doing</b></p><ul><li>Draft, edit, and publish project and product specifications to CSI/CSC standards.</li><li>Use <b>NBS Chorus</b> to action client markups and version control.</li><li>Shadow a senior writer, then own small projects with coaching and reviews.</li><li>Coordinate drawings and spec content; keep everything aligned and compliant.</li><li>Speak with manufacturers daily; validate products and performance data.</li><li>Prepare fee proposals, tender packages, contracts, and procurement requirements.</li><li>Support Canadian delivery and our US specification services as they grow.</li><li>Research materials, codes, and methods; maintain technical libraries and standards.</li><li>Balance multiple deadlines; communicate risks early and keep stakeholders updated.</li><li>Typical split: <b>~75% spec/project work, ~25% CMS work plan</b>.</li></ul><p><b>About You</b></p><p>This role asks for focus, resilience, and care. You’ll juggle competing timelines and complex detail—and you’ll grow fast.</p><ul><li>Architectural Technologist (or similar) post-secondary, or equivalent experience.</li><li>Understanding of contract documents; <b>CCDC</b> awareness is an asset.</li><li>Working knowledge of <b>MasterFormat, SectionFormat, PageFormat</b> (or learn quickly).</li><li>Clear, concise written communication; strong organisation and follow-through.</li><li>Confident with Microsoft 365 and modern collaboration tools.</li><li>Eager to pursue <b>CSP, RSW, or CCCA</b>.</li></ul><p><b>Nice to have</b></p><ul><li>1+ year with an architecture/engineering firm; 1+ year focused spec writing.</li><li>Sustainable design/LEED exposure; spec layout best practice.</li><li>Codes and standards familiarity; strong stakeholder communication.</li><li><b>Bonus:</b> Revit, Vectorworks, <b>NBS Chorus</b>, LEED, <b>CSC/CSI</b> membership, bilingual <b>English/French</b>.</li></ul><p><b>Why Hubexo</b></p><p>“We’re not here to coast—we’re here to challenge, grow, and build better.
