The Hampton Inn & Suites - Kelowna Airport is currently looking to fill the role of Laundry Attendant.</p><p>We are also on a bus route, with a stop just outside of the hotel, and our complimentary shuttle also picks up our employees from the bus loop at UBCO!</p><p></p><p><b>What will you be doing?</b></p><ul><li>Maintaining a neatly groomed appearance (uniform clean and name tag on)</li><li>Must be able to work well in a team atmosphere, as well as independently.</li><li>Being able to fully operate laundry machines and understand how they function.</li><li>Provide the Housekeeping department with clean linen and cleaning tools, folding all linen to the hotel’s standard.</li><li>Keeping the work area and machines clean; ensure any machine defects are reported promptly to the Manager.</li><li>Manually transport and distribute laundry to pre-designated locations.</li><li>Handle chemicals in a cautious and responsible manner in compliance with MSDS.</li><li>Keep track of damaged/repairable linens.</li><li>Assist in Linen Inventories.</li><li>Separate all linen/towels, accordingly, including any types of stains.  Need to be able to sort dirty linen in time for pick up according to the pick-up/delivery schedule provided.</li><li>Keep Housekeeping leadership informed of the need to know, such as: excessive staining, excessive damages, any problems with laundry service and all issues that may affect the laundry function.</li><li>Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet established goals and requirements.</li><li>Must be comfortable working with abrasive chemicals and using PPE.</li><li>Provide outstanding customer service to all our guests.</li><li>Take and complete all Brand Training.</li><li>Available to work varied shifts: days, weekends, and holidays.</li><li>Assisting in property walks, parking lot clean ups.</li><li>Assisting other departments when necessary and available. Cross training or working at our sister properties.</li><li>Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.</li></ul><p><strong>What are we looking for?</strong></p><ul><li>Possess a keen eye for detail</li><li>Self-starter, with time management and organizational skills</li><li>Able to work independently</li><li>Able to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 30 pounds without assistance</li><li>Able to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
