<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p>Salary: <br /><p>Egg Farmers of Canada (EFC) is presently seeking a Field Inspector located in Quebec to join our Operations team. Reporting to the Supervisor, Field Operations, the primary responsibilities of the role include executing audits, delivering educational programs, and acting as an ambassador of EFC in Central and Eastern Quebec. The successful candidate will be able to work from their home office, but must be able to travel to farms across Quebec.</p><p></p><p>This position is well-suited for someone with experience working in the <span >poultry/agriculture</span> industry, who has exceptional communication skills and is detail-oriented. The successful candidate must have a valid drivers license and access to a reliable vehicle.</p><p><br /></p><p>Duties and responsibilities:</p><p>Ongoing Activities</p><ul><li>Conduct on-farm inspections to ensure compliance with Good Management Practices and verify hen inventory.</li><li>Conduct audits for EFCs national on-farm food safety program, Start Clean-Stay Clean (SC-SC), which includes helping the farmers better understand the program</li><li>Conduct audits for EFCs Animal Care Program (ACP), which includes measuring housing systems, assessing hen condition, housing densities, feed and water resources, and reporting the results in the required format.</li><li>Conduct inventory audits at the egg board to ensure accurate inventories are reported on a timely basis</li><li>Responsible for upholding a high standard of cleanliness and organization for both the interior and exterior of the vehicle at all times.</li><li>Participate in seminars, courses, and project teams related to field inspection and the agriculture industry.</li><li>Visit stakeholders in other territories as required to conduct on-farm inspections or other related duties.</li></ul><p>Occasional Activities</p><ul><li>Verify compliance by: visiting grading stations and breaking plants; monitoring storage conditions and quality of product purchased by EFC; inspecting for proper documentations and labeling; and, verifying product is processed at the plant and not re-sold.</li><li>Meet with grading/breaking industry management and staff to resolve issues as they arise</li><li>Meet with Interprovincial License holders upon request.</li><li>Occasionally, liaise with allied trades (e.g. hatcheries and feed organizations) and their management in matters related to biosecurity and food safety.</li></ul><p>Administrative Activities</p><ul><li>Contribute to the preparation of presentations delivered to internal and external stakeholders.</li><li>Manage work schedule by coordinating on-farm visits and office work.</li><li>Complete expense and activity reports on a weekly basis.</li><li>Maintain information on farmers in assigned territory.</li><li>Correspond with various stakeholders through email, telephone and face-to-face meetings.</li></ul><p><br><br></p><p>Qualifications and Skills:</p><ul><li>Specialized knowledge of HACCP-based food safety programs and auditing principles.</li><li>Knowledge of food safety risks and regulations (Federal, Provincial and Local), EFC policies (egg regulations under the Safe Food for Canadians Act and the Recommended Code of Practice for the Care and Handling of Poultry), proper on-farm procedures, <span >poultry/agriculture</span> industry and related fields.</li><li>Knowledge in rodent control, bacteriology, biosecurity, feed supplements and water safety may be required depending on the province.</li><li>Knowledge of EFCs various products, policies, services and programs (e.g. industrial products and marketing initiatives).</li><li>Knowledge of relevant EFC policies and procedures.</li></ul><ul><li>Ability to apply technical concepts and applications to tasks or activities (e.g. delivering HACCP-based on-farm safety programs, monitoring industrial product eggs sold to EFC, and conducting industrial product audits).</li><li>Ability to follow effective audit procedures (e.g. formation of non-leading questions).</li><li>Ability to identify policy risks and provide recommendations.</li><li>Strong multi-tasking, organizational and administrative skills.</li><li><em>Inspector must have valid drivers license.</em></li><li>Fluently bilingual in English and French.</li></ul><p><br><br></p><p>Education and Experience:</p><ul><li>2 3 years of Specialized Community College education in <span >poultry/agriculture</span></li><li>Must have completed auditing courses</li><li>2 5 years experience in the agriculture industry</li></ul><p><br><br></p><p>Working Conditions:</p><ul><li>A fully remote position, with frequent travel to remote or rural locations to conduct audits.</li><li>A 37.5-hour workweek schedule, which may require working flexible hours and in different time zones.</li><li>Exposure to outdoor weather conditions and various environments (cold, warm, dusty and wet).</li><li>Prolonged periods of sitting and use of a tablet or computer.</li><li>Physical activity, including standing, walking, bending and occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs.).</li><li>Use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and compliance with safety protocols.</li></ul><p><br><br></p><p>About Egg Farmers of Canada</p><p>Now in its sixth decade as one of Canadas leading agriculture organizations, EFC manages the national egg supply and promotes egg consumption while representing the interests of over 1,200 regulated egg farmers and farm families from coast to coast.
