<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p><p>Technical Specialist <br />Port Alberni, BC is seeking talent to fill the position of a  <strong>Technical Specialist </strong><br /> <br /><strong>Job <span >Responsibilities/Accountabilities:</span></strong></p><ul><li><p>Implement the Company&#39;s business direction for the paper machine by ensuring safe manufacturing of paper products which meet the present and future requirements of customers.  </p></li><li><p>Responsible for coordinating, supporting, and participating in the resolution of other technical issues which cross all departments and business units.</p></li><li><p>Ensure product quality complies with mill and customer specifications</p></li><li><p>Actively support and contribute to the mill safety program.</p></li><li><p>Ensure the identification, development, and implementation of the capital plans required to ensure that Port Alberni can meet strategic goals.</p></li><li><p>Provide customer service as required, such as reviewing, investigating, and responding to customer complaints.</p></li><li><p>When designated by the manager, assume specific duties and responsibilities.</p></li><li><p>Responsible for the optimization of the paper machine operation.</p></li><li><p>Assist in organizing and planning paper machine shutdowns and maintenance activities.</p></li></ul><p>  <strong>Key Skills:</strong></p><ul><li><p>Ability to understand requirements and ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.</p></li><li><p>Ability to prioritize, make sound decisions, and resolve issues efficiently and effectively. Proven analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.</p></li><li><p>Strong interpersonal, leadership and time management skills.</p></li><li><p>Exceptional oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels within the company.</p></li><li><p>Ability to work independently and as a team.</p></li><li><p>High degree of collaboration with both Maintenance and Operations personnel.</p></li><li><p>Excellent computer skills. </p></li></ul><p> <strong>Required Professional <span >Experience/Qualifications:</span></strong><br /> </p><ul><li><p>Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical, Mechanical, Pulp & Paper engineering or a technical degree with 5 years of related paper industry experience.</p></li></ul></p></p>
