Part Technician – Plumbing, Heating & Electrical
Location: Saskatoon, SK
Reporting to: Warehouse Supervisor
The Opportunity
As the Parts Technician, you will work as part of a dynamic and passionate team to ensure that materials required at various locations are promptly and efficiently delivered and assist in the daily operations of the warehouse. You’ll manage materials coordination, purchasing, receiving, and inventory, while supporting a culture of safety and organization.
This role is ideal for someone with strong warehouse experience who’s ready to take the next step toward a supervisory role. You’ll also serve as the backup to the Warehouse Supervisor, ensuring smooth operations, team support, and workflow continuity when coverage is needed.
Key Responsibilities
As the Part Technician - Plumbing, Heating & Electrical, you will work collaboratively and are responsible for:
- Coordinate deliveries to and from job site
- Verify counts, pricing, and quality on incoming and outgoing shipments
- Maintain and update the computerized purchase order and inventory systems
- Assist in product and material research for Technicians
- Perform inventory checks and cycle counts weekly, monthly, and annually
- Restock service bins for air conditioning, furnace, and renovation departments
- Ensure all materials are stored safely and properly, keeping the warehouse neat and orderly
- Provide backup supervision to ensure workflow, safety, and productivity in the Materials Department
- Act as delegate for the Warehouse Supervisor, supporting seamless operations and team guidance during coverage period
- Conduct regular safety meetings, inspections, and process improvements
- Ensure all outgoing materials are accurately prepared, safely loaded, and meet delivery requirements and safety standards
- Safely operate company vehicles for deliveries and pick-ups as required
- Exemplify and promote Centennial’s values across all warehouse and field operations
- Maintain respectfulness and professionalism during daily warehouse and delivery operations
Qualifications
As the Part Technician - Plumbing, Heating & Electrical, you will bring:
- Several years of hands-on experience in warehouse operations, materials coordination, or parts handling
- Background as a trained Parts Technician or Parts Person considered ideal
- Highly organized, able to multitask and prioritize effectively, especially during busy periods
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for cross-departmental collaboration
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative, make sound decisions, and lead by example
- Proactive, self-starting approach with a vision for continuous improvement
- Professional demeanor and presentation when representing Centennial to suppliers and partners
- Comfortable learning and using software systems
- Valid class 5 driver’s license with good driving abstract
- Ability to lift and handle heavy objects
