<p><h3>Overview</h3><p>Under the general direction of the Manager of Respiratory Therapy and Perfusion, and clinically on a daily basis the Operating Surgeon and Anaesthetist, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values, and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital, the Staff Perfusionist is responsible for setting up, operating and dismantling heart-lung machine and related equipment; providing instruction for Perfusionist Students, and general orientation for other health care professionals in regard to the basics of Cardiac Surgery requiring the use of CPB and/or other relevant equipment; and performing other related duties as assigned.</p><h3>Job Details</h3><ul><li><b>Location:</b> Winnipeg</li><li><b>Employer:</b> St. Boniface Hospital</li><li><b>Site:</b> St. Boniface Hospital</li><li><b>Department / Unit:</b> Perfusion Staff</li><li><b>Job Stream:</b> Clinical</li><li><b>Union:</b> MAHCP</li><li><b>FTE:</b> 1.00</li><li><b>Anticipated Shift:</b> Days; Standby coverage as required</li><li><b>Work Arrangement:</b> In Person</li><li><b>Daily Hours Worked:</b> 8.00</li><li><b>Annual Base Hours:</b> 2080</li><li><b>Salary:</b> $62,481; $64,337; $66,242; $68,255; $70,283</li><li><b>Posting End Date:</b> September 4, 2025</li><li><b>Reason for Term:</b> Maternity Leave</li></ul><h3>Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Set up, operate and dismantle heart-lung machine and related equipment.</li><li>Provide instruction for Perfusionist Students.</li><li>Provide general orientation for other health care professionals regarding the basics of Cardiac Surgery requiring CPB and related equipment.</li><li>Perform other related duties as assigned.</li></ul><h3>Experience</h3><ul><li>Previous perfusion experience an asset.</li></ul><h3>Education</h3><ul><li>Graduate of an Accredited Cardiovascular Perfusion Program.</li></ul><h3>Certification/Licensure/Registration</h3><ul><li>Certified by the Canadian Society of Clinical Perfusion or Certified by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion.</li></ul><h3>Qualifications and Skills</h3><ul><li>Ability to interact well with health care professionals at all levels.</li><li>Good interpersonal communication skills.</li><li>Adapts readily to various types of clinical situations.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to work under pressure.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to deal with technical problems that may arise.</li><li>Mature, professional manner.</li></ul><h3>Physical Requirements</h3><p>Not Applicable</p><h3>Additional Information</h3><ul><li>This term position may end earlier as outlined in your collective bargaining agreement.</li><li>This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment.
