<p><strong>Controller (Plant Controller)</strong></p><p>Our client, a leading custom steel fabricator in North Bay, is seeking a hands-on, experienced Controller.</p><p>The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA designation preferred) and bring 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing and/or construction environment with experience in job costing.</p><p>As a key member of the management team, the successful candidate will play a critical role in shaping operational decisions by providing valuable financial insights, guidance, and strategic input.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.</li><li>Manage month-end reconciliations and closing procedures to ensure accurate, timely reporting.</li><li>Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.</li><li>Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.</li><li>Lead job costing, WIP, and revenue recognition processes; monitor project profitability.</li><li>Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making and strategic planning.</li><li>Oversee IT administration for the company’s systems.</li><li>Coordinate with external accountants during the annual review engagement.</li></ul><p><strong>Skills & Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).</li><li>Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing or construction.</li><li>Strong knowledge of construction accounting principles (job costing, WIP, revenue recognition).</li><li>Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor and manage a team.</li><li>Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.</li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; IT background an asset.</li><li>Experience with ERP software</li><li>Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset.</li></ul>
