<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p><p><strong></strong></p><p><strong>VOLUNTEER POSITIONS AVAILABLE ASUS Equity Workshop Series (AEWS)</strong><br /><strong>Applications extended until August 31st at 4:00 PM EST</strong></p><p>The ASUS Equity Workshop Series (AEWS) is committed to educating members of the Queen's and Kingston communities on issues of social justice, equity, accountability, and inclusivity. Through keynote speakers, student-led discussions, and engaging activities, we aim to foster dialogue, deepen understanding, and inspire action toward creating a safer and more respectful social climate.</p><p>We are currently recruiting for the following volunteer roles for the <strong>20252026 term (SeptemberApril)</strong>. All positions require an average commitment of <strong>23 hours per week</strong>.</p>Marketing Team Graphic Designer<p>Do you love creating engaging visuals and want to showcase your graphic design skills? AEWS is the perfect platform for you.</p><p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li><p>Design graphics for social media, newsletters, and event promotion</p></li><li><p>Collaborate on special designs with speakers and team members</p></li><li><p>Help develop a cohesive and creative visual identity for AEWS</p></li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li><p>Ability to meet deadlines and communicate effectively</p></li><li><p>Willingness to collaborate and receive feedback</p></li><li><p>Creativity and attention to detail</p></li><li><p>Experience with Canva and/or Photoshop is an asset, but not required</p></li></ul>Marketing Coordinator<p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li><p>Create and execute outreach strategies across platforms like Instagram</p></li><li><p>Write engaging captions and assist with story takeovers and other content</p></li><li><p>Drive event turnout and awareness through accessible and inclusive messaging</p></li><li><p>Ensure workshops reach students from a wide range of communities at Queen's</p></li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li><p>Strong communication and organizational skills</p></li><li><p>Interest in inclusive, equity-focused marketing</p></li><li><p>Ability to work independently and meet deadlines</p></li><li><p>Experience with social media tools (e.g. Instagram, Canva) is an asset but not required</p></li></ul>Newsletter Coordinator<p>Are you passionate about communication and community engagement? The newsletter role is a great opportunity to develop your writing and design skills.</p><p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li><p>Draft and format monthly newsletters featuring event updates, speaker highlights, and educational content</p></li><li><p>Coordinate with the marketing and outreach teams to ensure timely and relevant messaging</p></li><li><p>Track newsletter engagement and explore ways to improve reach</p></li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li><p>Strong writing and editing skills</p></li><li><p>Organized, reliable, and detail-oriented</p></li><li><p>Familiarity with layout design tools such as Canva or Mailchimp is an asset</p></li></ul>Sponsorship Coordinator<p>This role is ideal for someone interested in building community relationships and developing outreach experience.</p><p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li><p>Identify and reach out to potential sponsors within Queen's, Kingston, and surrounding communities</p></li><li><p>Draft sponsorship proposals and manage agreements</p></li><li><p>Maintain ongoing relationships with confirmed sponsors</p></li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li><p>Professional and confident communication skills</p></li><li><p>Organized and proactive in outreach</p></li><li><p>Comfortable working independently and collaboratively</p></li></ul>Speaker Outreach Coordinator<p>Interested in community engagement and event planning?
