Our communities are among the best places to live in Western Canada.</p><p>Our Vision: For every person to feel at home.</p><p>This is truly supported by our credo. “Let us welcome you home.” All of us here feel it is an honour to work with our residents and we advocate a resident-centered approach where the Resident, is the focus of all our endeavours.</p><p>As the Recreation Aide, you are responsible for providing recreation activities to promote physical, social, emotional, intellectual, spiritual and cultural needs of our residents.</p><p><b>Responsibilities</b></p><ul><li>Engage residents through conversation to identify recreation wants, needs, and abilities</li><li>Assessment and research in order to develop recreation plan</li><li>Implement and coordinate programs, including transportation</li><li>Monitor and support recreation team and/or volunteers in delivery of programs</li><li>Measure and evaluate success of program, redesign as needed</li><li>Recruit, orientate, schedule and monitor volunteers</li><li>Coordinate church services, entertainment, and special events</li><li>Purchase recreation supplies as needed within the recreation budget</li><li>Coordinate transportation schedule and drivers’ schedule for offsite activities, use company vehicle for transportation as needed</li><li>Coordinate a yearly schedule of special events, lead decorating for special events</li><li>Prepare monthly recreation reports as required</li><li>Write and publish monthly newsletter and calendar of events, gathering feedback from residents</li><li>Provide training for recreation team and/or volunteers</li><li>Oversee the maintenance of recreation equipment and report any concerns</li><li>Develop and implement volunteer appreciation program</li><li>Operate in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act</li><li>Other duties as assigned to support operational requirements</li></ul><p><b>Qualifications and Experience</b></p><ul><li>Experience in a residential care setting is preferred</li><li>Completion of Therapeutic Recreation program</li><li>Registered with provincial Therapeutic Recreation association and in good standing</li><li>Valid provincial class 4 driver's license required</li><li>Completion of CPR and First Aid is an asset</li><li>Exceptional interpersonal skills with peers, residents, visitors and operational partners</li><li>Superior organizational skills with the ability to handle multi-resident requests</li><li>Superior oral and written communication skills</li><li>Demonstrate the ability to prioritize and problem solve</li></ul><p><b>Conditions of Employment</b></p><ul><li>Clear Drivers Abstract</li><li>Clear Police Information Check</li><li>Clear Vulnerable Sector Check</li></ul><p>Powered by JazzHR</p><p>mbuNqjeWwW</p></p></p>Browse Jobs in Canada by City
