<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p><p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Receive optimized Bill of Materials (BOM) from Production Supervisor. Check for:<ul><li>accuracy of information</li><li>special requirements prior to cutting material</li><li>cutting list, if supplied, is accurate, compare against Fabrication drawings</li></ul></li><li>Attend production meetings when / if required.</li><li>Fabricating and constructing metal components.</li><li>Check shop work orders to ensure they are being completed in a timely manner as per the customer&#39;s requirements.</li><li>Ensure work orders are signed by the employee who handles the request.</li><li>Ensure machinery is in safe working condition by lubrication, cleaning, etc.</li><li>Report any concerns to the Shop Manager.</li><li>Ensure work area is kept clean daily:<ul><li>Floors are kept clear of any debris</li><li>Electrical cords wrapped and put away</li><li>Ensure Workplace Health & Safety policy is followed</li></ul></li><li>Follow the company policies, goals, and objectives for the Company and the Production Department.</li><li>All employees must always wear proper footwear and hearing/eye protection when required.</li><li>Starts machine and observes machine operation to reposition work piece, change dies, or adjust machine settings for multiple or successive passes.</li><li>Inspects or measures work, using rule, gauges, and templates to ensure quality products.</li><li>Lifts work piece manually and positions and secures it on machine table in holding fixture.</li><li>Changes worn bending and cutting tools as required.</li><li>Maintain work area and shop tools/equipment.</li><li>Check the stock length material for defects.</li><li>Check and compare quantities cut compared to what is required and shown on BOM.</li><li>Able to work independently.</li><li>Is a team player.</li><li>Has a valid forklift license – Preferred.</li><li>Run a first piece sample at the beginning of each shift to ensure the calibration and quality of selected machines.</li><li>Responsible for being the main contact from the shop to assist when called upon.</li><li>Has reliable transportation.</li><li>Able to consistently lift up to 50lbs.</li><li>Other job duties as assigned – Mainly duties with residential service work.</li></ul></p></p>
