The college offers comprehensive training programs to prepare students for success in various skilled trades professions.</p><p><strong>Role Description</strong></p><p>The Senior Accountant will play a key role in managing full-cycle accounting function. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on accounting professional.</p><p> </p><p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Responsible for Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable function</li><li>prepare job costing reports.</li><li>Assist with month-end process.</li><li>Prepares monthly bank reconciliation.</li><li>Reconciles the general ledger accounts and prepares journal entries.</li><li>Reconciles monthly inter-company transactions.</li><li>Responsible for preparing unearned revenue schedules.</li><li>Assist with the preparation of monthly management reports.</li><li>Assist the accounting department with day-to-day accounting operations.</li><li>Assist with the year-end audit, including preparation of accounting reconciliations and supporting documents.</li><li>Responsible for the accounting and reporting of the non-for profit Organization</li><li>Filing and maintaining accounting files</li><li>Other duties as assigned.</li></ul><p> </p><p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>5+ years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping, preferably within the construction industry.</li><li>Proficiency in full-cycle accounting processes.</li><li>Solid understanding of HST and tax compliance regulations.</li><li>Exceptional organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.</li><li>Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.</li></ul><p> </p><p><strong>Requirements:</strong></p><ul><li>Post-Secondary Degree in Accounting from a recognized Canadian Education Institution (<em>College or University</em>);</li><li>Minimum 2 years' experience</li><li>Fluent in English.</li><li>Proficient in Microsoft 365.</li><li>Proficient in working in QuickBooks Online.</li><li>Ability to commute to our Vaughan</li></ul></p></p>Browse Jobs in Canada by City
