<p><strong>Your new company</strong> </p><p>Hays has partnered with a renowned developer in the Greater Toronto Area who has built a wide range of residential offerings, including and most notably, high-rise construction projects. They are located in the heart of the city and have been around for decades. </p><p><br></p><p><strong>Your new role</strong> </p><p>The current opening is for a Senior Estimator, reporting to the Vice President and taking ownership of some large residential construction projects. The Senior Estimator will be responsible for: </p><ul><li>Prepare accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for high-rise residential construction projects</li><li>Analyze architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and project documentation</li><li>Develop budgets that align with project timelines and construction challenges</li><li>Create and issue tenders for subcontractor pricing and vendor selection</li><li>Maintain and update a costing database for future budgeting and benchmarking</li><li>Conduct post-project reviews to compare estimated vs. actual costs</li><li>Identify and mitigate project risks, including financial and technical exposures</li><li>Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to refine estimates</li><li>Provide regular reporting on current and upcoming estimates and budgets</li><li>Lead and mentor junior estimators and support staff</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>What you'll need to succeed</strong> </p><ul><li>10+ years of experience in construction estimating, preferably in high-rise residential projects</li><li>Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management</li><li>Proven experience with large-scale residential projects ($150M–$300M+)</li><li>Strong understanding of building envelope systems, M&E systems, and site development</li><li>Familiarity with contract types such as CCDC 2, CCDC 3, CCDC 14, CCA 5a/5b</li><li>Proficiency in estimating and project management software (e.g., Procore, BlueBeam, MS Project, Excel)</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>What you'll get in return</strong> </p><p>Competitive base salary, bonus etc. </p><p><strong>What you need to do now</strong> </p><p>If you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.
