<p><h3>Overview</h3><p>It is an exciting time to join the Water discipline at ISL. If you are looking to support exciting water, wastewater, and municipal projects in British Columbia we want to hear from you.</p><p>ISL’s Water Team is a multidisciplinary group that delivers infrastructure, minimizing environmental impact and maximizing benefit to the community. The team includes engineers, technologists, planners, landscape architects, scientists, and support teams who collaborate to deliver integrated solutions.</p><h3>A Little About You</h3><p>Your cover letter must demonstrate: how you have designed and led comparable projects, the role you played, and the scope of those projects.</p><p>Your resume should show:</p>
<ul>
<li>P.Eng. designation with EGBC; and other provinces (e.g., Alberta, Saskatchewan) if applicable.</li>
<li>5 to 10 years of experience in mechanical and process design of water and wastewater treatment and pumping-related infrastructure.</li>
<li>Strong familiarity with BC water and wastewater design standards and construction methodologies.</li>
<li>Examples of design/project coordination as a project lead/engineer/manager on multidisciplinary projects of varying size and complexity.</li>
<li>Examples of relationship building or business development that have led to success.</li>
</ul>
<p>Bonus points for: alternative project delivery experience; multidisciplinary collaboration across locations; experience with design collaboration tools (ACC, Navisworks, Bluebeam); familiarity with Alberta/Saskatchewan standards.</p>
<h3>Responsibilities</h3>
<p>You will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team responsible for the design and construction of municipal infrastructure projects for public and private sector clients. The principal focus is on water and wastewater process-mechanical systems, including:</p>
<ul>
<li>Water/wastewater treatment, water/drainage pump stations, sanitary lift stations, water reservoirs, and pressure reducing valve stations.</li>
<li>Collaboration with engineers and project managers to support municipal engineering teams across Western Canada.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Your Primary Responsibilities</h3>
<ul>
<li>Manage and lead projects of varying size and complexity across BC, including client liaison, budgeting, deliverables, scheduling, and project metrics.</li>
<li>Provide direction and oversight to proposals, deliverables, and projects.</li>
<li>Complete planning, analysis, development, and design tasks for water, wastewater, and drainage systems (PFDs, P&ID, process layout drawings).</li>
<li>Develop skills for sizing and selecting process equipment, pumping equipment, and piping for water, wastewater, and drainage systems.</li>
<li>Prepare engineering reports, technical specifications, and drawings in collaboration with team members.</li>
<li>Maintain quality control and documentation standards, including self-checking deliverables and reviewing others’ work.</li>
<li>Support project management and construction administration across BC, Alberta, and Saskatchewan, including responding to technical questions, field reviews, and commissioning.</li>
<li>Contribute to proposals and business development within Western Canada.</li>
<li>Interact professionally with clients, contractors, stakeholders, and colleagues, providing timely responses.</li>
<li>Mentor junior staff to support their career goals.</li>
<li>Coordinate CAD design technologists and E.I.T.s to prepare design and project deliverables.</li>
<li>Develop and maintain ongoing client relationships and promote ISL’s work across Western Canada.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Location</h3>
<p>This position will be located at one of ISL’s British Columbia locations: Langley, Victoria, Burnaby, or Nanaimo. A strong BC candidate willing to travel to offices for business may be considered.</p>
<h3>Salary</h3>
<p>Salary range: $95,000 – $145,000 annually (based on qualifications).</p>
