<p>The Senior Construction Project Manager (CPM) plays a ‘hands-on’ role as the primary point of contact for commercial projects globally. This position is responsible for executing projects, developing project schedules and budgets, managing trades and ensuring successful, on-time and on-budget (margin-focused) project completion within their scope. The CPM will interface with internal and external stakeholders including- Regional Sales Managers (RSM), trades, subcontractors, architects, engineers, technicians, designers, and suppliers across approximately a dozen different vertical markets.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>On-site general contract management, including installation activities</li><li>Develop and manage project budgets and scope changes</li><li>Schedule the project in logical steps and budget time required to meet deadlines</li><li>Evaluate and vet all subcontractors bidding on projects</li><li>Support Regional Sales Managers (RSM) in providing cost estimates and product information for customer proposals</li><li>Inspect and review project sites to monitor and ensure compliance with building and safety codes, and other applicable regulations</li><li>Interpret and communicate plans and contract terms to administrative staff, workers, and clients, representing the owner or developer</li><li>Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements with architects, engineers, consultants, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors</li><li>Prepare project schedules- ensuring milestones are clearly defined, tracked and communicated to all stakeholders</li><li>Identify and manage changes or issues that may impact project timelines, budgets, or deliverables</li><li>Prepare detailed scope documents and proposals outlining project objectives, scope of work budgets, and schedules</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Other Duties Include</strong></p><ul><li>Offer value engineering recommendations.</li><li>Maintain timely and consistent communication with both internal and external customers</li><li>Identify and engage qualified local subcontractors for defined scopes of work</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Solid working knowledge of Construction Management, and on-site project management</li><li>Ability to interpret design and construction documentation and drawings</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong> Education/Experience</strong></p><ul><li>Post-secondary degree in Construction Science, Architecture, or a related field preferred; equivalent and extensive constructive management experience will also be considered</li><li>Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management for commercial construction projects or equivalent</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Competencies Required</strong></p><ul><li>Strong technical aptitude as related to the trades</li><li>Knowledge of site-specific requirements including training, safety, testing, screening, union regulations, permits and inspections</li><li>Proven project Management and organizational skills</li><li>High attention to detail</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Personal Attributes</strong></p><ul><li>Willingness to travel</li><li>Self-motivated, disciplined, and managed</li><li>Detail oriented</li><li>Able to communicate succinctly and clearly</li><li>Effective problem solving skills</li><li>Timely, respects rigid schedules and deadlines, strives to meet deadlines, takes responsibility/accountability for missed schedules.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong> Special Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>Ability to travel globally without restrictions</li><li>Must be capable of performing the physical demands of the role as needed</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Working Environment / Location</strong></p><ul><li>Primarily office-based, with extended periods of sitting and computer use</li><li>Calgary, AB based position </li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong><em>Evans is an Equal Opportunity Employer.</em></strong></p><p><strong><em>Our mission is to ensure that our workforce is both diverse and inclusive</em></strong></p><p><strong><em>We seek employees from a diverse talent group, if you are a member of a minority population, we encourage you to apply at Evans!</em></strong></p>Browse Jobs in Canada by City
