Senior Project Manager - Job Description
Employment: Direct hire, full time
Location: Toronto, Ontario - Hybrid, 2 days onsite
Salary Range: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00
Overview
As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing complex IT projects in a fast-paced financial institution environment. Your primary focus will be on ensuring successful delivery of project deliverables within the constraints of schedule, scope, and budget. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including development, QA, infrastructure, and business units.
What you will be doing:
Develop and maintain comprehensive project management artifacts, including project plans, status reports, risk and issue logs, and software artifacts in JIRA, Confluence, and SharePoint.
Establish and oversee Agile ceremonies, including daily standups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
Manage stakeholder expectations and communicate effectively with all levels, from senior management to project team members.
Conduct regular meetings with project team members to track progress and provide status updates to key stakeholders.
Liaise with external vendors to ensure optimal project delivery structures.
Prioritize activities, address risks/issues, and manage resources efficiently across various departments.
Build a collaborative and productive team environment, driving accountability towards critical milestones and deadlines.
Anticipate and address potential impediments to team delivery and administer metrics tracking.
What you must have:
Experience: 5+ years managing complex IT projects, focusing on Agile development in financial institutions.
Education: Bachelor's in Computer Sciences, Information Systems, or equivalent.
Certifications: Project management certifications (PMP, Agile) preferred.
Tools: Proficiency in JIRA, Confluence, and other project management tools.
Expertise: Expertise in IT project management, business analysis, and change management.
Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to lead and motivate colleagues.
Pace: Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
