SQL Database Admin (Migration & Azure)

Job Description

<p><p>Working with one of the top financial clients, this role calls for a SQL Database Admin (Migration & Azure) who will administer, maintain, and optimize MS SQL databases (on-premises and Azure SQL/MI). This candidate will lead and execute database migration projects, including on-prem to Azure and Oracle to Azure migrations.</p><h3>Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Champion performance tuning and troubleshooting to ensure optimal database performance.</li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement robust database solutions.</li><li>Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members on database support and best practices.</li><li>Work with ServiceNow for incident and change ticket management.</li><li>Participate in Agile methodology and contribute to sprint planning and reviews.</li><li>Deliver excellent customer support and foster strong collaboration within the team.</li></ul><h3>Desired Skill Set</h3><ul><li>5+ years of hands-on experience with MS SQL (on-premises)</li><li>3+ years of experience with Azure SQL and Managed Instances</li><li>3+ years of expertise in database migrations (on-prem to Azure, Oracle to Azure)</li><li>Strong knowledge of database architecture, Azure components, and cloud best practices.</li><li>Excellent performance tuning and troubleshooting skills.</li></ul><h3>Nice To Have</h3><ul><li>Banking experience</li><li>Experience with ServiceNow incident and change ticket processes</li><li>Experience with Agile methodologies</li></ul><p>BeachHead is an equal opportunity agency and employer.
