You have a strong ability to operate equipment and field tools, with a healthy respect for the great outdoors and the timeline of the task at hand.</p><p><p><b>What you will do:</b></p></p><ul><li>Manage and perform field survey work with the support of Survey Assistants.</li><li>Liaise with Project Managers to coordinate field survey work, review and manage project budgets, schedules, priorities, and survey methodology.</li><li>Liaise with client field representatives and landowners and be a brand ambassador for GeoVerra.</li><li>Prepare field notes, sketches, checklists, and digital data in required formats for different audiences.</li><li>Provide guidance, training and mentorship to Survey Assistants.</li><li>Contribute to the development and implementation of industry best practices, efficient field processes and procedures and the innovative use of new technology. </li><li>Proactively participate in and support the GeoVerra safety program.</li><li>Complete office technical survey tasks as required and other duties as assigned.</li></ul><p><p><b>What you will bring: </b></p></p><ul><li>Diploma/Degree in a post-secondary program related to surveying and geomatics or an equivalent experience.</li><li>Strong working knowledge of survey equipment and software such as GPS and Total Stations (Including Robotic).</li><li>Experience of Trimble equipment and software, laser scanning and line locating considered an asset.</li><li>3-5 years of experience in a Survey Crew Chief role completing construction and legal surveys is required</li><li>Strong problem-solving skills in a field environment.</li><li>Effective verbal and written communication skills with the capacity to produce accurate and legible field notes.</li><li>The ability to develop and motivate survey staff and work well in a team environment.</li><li>An aptitude for delivering projects on time and budget.</li><li>A valid driver’s license and can provide a clean driver’s abstract; and</li><li>Successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol screening as per the limits provided in the Canadian Model for Providing a Safe Workplace</li></ul><p><p><b>Job Conditions:</b></p></p><ul><li>Out-of-town work (possible shift work) and frequent travel are required.</li><li>Ability to carry, lift and push up to 50lbs on a regular basis.</li><li>Night shift may be required.</li><li>Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.</li></ul><p><p><b>What we offer:</b></p></p><ul><li>Comprehensive benefits coverage, vacation, wellness days, and RRSP matching contributions. </li><li>Wage range: $32.00-37.00/hour depending on experience</li><li>Tools and services to support your mental wellness </li><li>Work-life balance </li><li>Growth and advancement opportunities </li><li>Paid professional dues </li><li>Continuing education and professional development </li><li>Use of leading-edge technology and equipment </li><li>Diverse projects and a fast-paced working environment</li></ul><p><br />As an equal opportunity employer, GeoVerra is dedicated to providing a fair and equitable recruitment and selection process.
