Testing and service technician

Job Description

<p>Nova Staffing is seeking an experienced Testing & Service Technician in the HVAC industry, for a client close to the Hamilton area. See below for further details:<br/>Responsibilities:<br/>Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, or other specifications<br/>Measure and lay out reference points for installation<br/>Use hand and power tools to assemble, install, and repair units<br/>Start up system and test for leaks using testing devices<br/>Perform testing of HVAC systems<br/>Routine maintenance or service, including system maintenance, recharge, checking and testing regulators, calibrating system<br/>Conduct troubleshooting and repairs for refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation, heat pump, electrical, and control systems<br/>Promote teamwork and good company morale; mentor and knowledge share with teammates; conduct yourself with the highest ethical standards<br/>Qualifications:<br/>Secondary School Diploma or equivalent<br/>Post-secondary education in HVAC Technician or related field preferred<br/>G2 gas license is required<br/>3 years' experience in HVAC testing, repair and/or servicing; working with electrical components required<br/>Experience with commercial air handling units and working in a manufacturing setting an asset<br/>Ability to use hand tools and basic power tools<br/>Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail<br/>Ability to lift heavy parts (50 lbs.) and sheet metal on a frequent basis; ability to stand for extended periods of time; ability to crouch, climb, reach, twist, and bend<br/>Ability to work in a team or group environment and independently with minimal instruction<br/>Ability to work under pressure and short deadlines<br/>Strong English written and verbal communication skills<br/>Strong customer service skills, professionalism, and interpersonal skills to work with colleagues and clients from diverse backgrounds<br/>Shift: Day shift<br/>Payrate: $30-36/hr (dependent on work experience)<br/>Job Type: Full-time<br/>Pay: $30.00-$36.00 per hour<br/>Application question(s):<br/>Please state your work authorization status: Study permit?
