<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p><p><strong>Apprentice Heavy Duty Mechanic - 3rd or 4th Year</strong></p><p>Standard Bus Contracting is currently seeking a dedicated Apprentice Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our dynamic team in Whitehorse. Both third and fourth year apprentices considered. </p><p>This is a full-time permanent position working Monday through Friday from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm, with the possibility of evening and weekend overtime shifts as required.</p><p><strong>Hourly Rates:</strong></p><ul><li>3rd Year – $38.00 to $42.00 per hour</li><li>4th Year – Up to $46.00 per hour (depending on experience)</li></ul><p><strong>Principal Duties and Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Diagnose, examine and investigate to determine causes of defective operation of vehicle components with the use of computer diagnostic equipment</li><li>Determine proper course of action to facilitate vehicle repair, maintenance, adjustment and component replacement</li><li>Maintain, adjust, and/or repair all bus systems, components, and parts to ensure the operational fitness of vehicles</li><li>Operate buses to diagnose component failure or move buses when required</li><li>Communicate and consult with employees from all levels of the organization</li><li>Maintain accuracy of documentation for all records of service, repair, and other work</li><li>Perform procurement of parts and materials</li><li>Uphold compliance with all company policies and procedures: safety standards, operations, maintenance, training, cleanliness standards, etc.</li></ul><ul></ul><ul></ul><ul></ul><p><strong>Knowledge & Skills Required</strong></p><ul><li>Registered Apprentice (3rd and 4th year considered)</li><li>Valid driver’s license</li><li>Exposure to working on diesel engines considered an asset</li><li>Analytical problem solving and troubleshooting skills</li><li>Strong time management and well-developed communication skills (both written and verbal)</li><li>Computer proficiency</li></ul><p>#ZRLP</p><ul></ul><ul></ul></p></p>Browse Jobs in Canada by City
