Our reputation was built in fluid conveyance, and this has since extended to fluid power and controls.</p><p>Our fluid conveyance offering ranges from end user hose replacements right through to full hydraulic conveyance kitting for some of North America’s largest OEMs. We also offer full hydraulic system servicing, both on site and in our shop. Our engineering department can help with the smallest of requests right up to designing and building large power units. Our drive to sell and service the best brands in the world has established our relationship with Hetronic Radio Remotes, by being Hetronic Canada, our clients can now lean on the UMI Group for support in radio remotes and electrical controls.</p><p>The <b>Corporate Controller</b> will be responsible for financial planning, optimizing financial processes, and preparing budgets and reports across the UMI Group of companies. They will oversee all accounting operations, ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, and implementing/maintaining robust internal controls. The Corporate Controller will possess an in-depth knowledge of financial management principles and extensive experience in a similar role. They will work closely with the Director of Operations, Vice President & General Manager and President to support strategic financial planning, compliance, and executive decision-making.</p><p><b>Why Join Us?</b></p><ul><li>Matching RRSP Program</li><li>Great company culture</li><li>Career advancement opportunities</li><li>Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits</li><li>Company events</li><li>Referral bonus program</li><li>On-site parking</li></ul><h3>Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Establish, maintain, and enhance long-term relationships with customers (internal and external)</li><li>Financial Reporting & Compliance<ul><li>Lead the preparation of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements</li><li>Manage consolidated reporting across multiple entities</li><li>Ensure compliance with ASPE and other relevant accounting/tax standards</li><li>Prepare year-end financial package and coordinate with external accountants to support the preparation of annual financial statements and tax returns</li><li>Oversee payroll process and the preparation/filing of year-end tax documents</li></ul></li><li>Accounting Operations & Process Improvement<ul><li>Oversee ongoing accounting processes and identify opportunities for improvement</li><li>Implement and maintain effective internal controls and accounting policies</li></ul></li><li>Leadership & Team Management<ul><li>Manage employees in the Accounting, Analytics, and Human Resources departments</li><li>Support professional development of these employees to sustain the company’s continued growth</li><li>Support strategic planning across multiple operating companies/departments</li></ul></li><li>Budgeting & Forecasting<ul><li>Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process</li><li>Regularly review & adjust financial forecasts in response to external and internal changes</li><li>Provide variance analysis and insights to support strategic decisions</li></ul></li><li>Finance & Cash Management<ul><li>Review & manage the company’s cash requirements</li><li>Analyze proposed spending initiatives and provide recommendations to the President/Vice President</li><li>Engage with external lenders to obtain financing and ensure continued compliance with covenants</li></ul></li><li>All other duties as assigned.</li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul><li>High school diploma, general education degree, or equivalent.</li><li>Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or a similar field.</li><li>CPA designation (or equivalent) required</li><li>8+ years experience in financial administration or similar</li><li>5+ years experience managing accounting/financial teams</li><li>Strong knowledge of ASPE and other relevant accounting/tax standards</li><li>Extensive experience in corporate finance, cash management, and performance management.</li><li>Experience with integrating acquisitions and standardizing processes across a group of companies</li><li>Experience with working with ERP systems/ability to learn new systems</li><li>Experience with SAP Business One is considered an asset</li><li>Prior involvement in a high-growth environment including international expansions is considered an asset</li><li>Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a growing team</li><li>Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.</li><li>Highly organized with a great sense of time management.</li><li>Strong work ethic and meticulous attention to detail.</li></ul><p>We are committed to fostering an inclusive, accessible environment where all employees and customers feel valued, respected, and supported.
