Cummins is looking to add an apprentice diesel mechanic to its team in Surrey, BC.

In This Role You Will Do The Following

  • Assist in cleaning, inspecting, disassembling, and other basic workshop activities.
  • Learn Standard Repair Times (SRTs) and follow documented procedures and policies to complete basic repairs and maintenance.
  • Help complete required documentation, such as work completed forms and time sheets, either by hand or through business system input screens.
  • Complete training in-line to job skill and business requirements.
  • Maintain cleanliness and proper operation of the work area and tools.
  • Project a positive company image by interacting cooperatively, supportively, and courteously with fellow employees, customers, and management, displaying a professional attitude.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality policies, procedures, and legislation, and report any issues or incidents to the supervisor.
  • Attend classroom training at an accredited university while gaining knowledge and experience in the work environment.

Responsibilities
To be successful in this role, you will need the following :
Education, Licenses, Certifications

  • Secondary school diploma or equivalent.
  • Meet and qualify for apprentice local/government/state requirements.
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations
  • Eligible to be enrolled in and be a student in a Community College or Technical College.

Experience

  • Minimal or No prior workshop experience required.
  • Basic knowledge of engine products preferred.
