Webster Jr Public School (1900 Keele Street) - 2:45pm - 5:30pm</li><li>Humber Children's Program (121 Humber Boulevard South) - 3:00pm - 5:30pm</li><li>Silverthorn Community School (300 Kane Avenue) - 3:00pm - 5:30pm</li><li>Warren Park Jr. Public School (135 Varsity Road) - 2:45pm - 5:30pm</li><li>Fairbank Public School (2335 Dufferin Street) - 3:00pm - 5:30pm</li><li>Baycrest Public School (50 Ameer Avenue) - 3:00pm - 5:30pm</li></ol><p></p><p>BGC Weston Mount Dennis & Lawrence Heights Club serves children and youth in the Weston Mount Dennis/ Lawrence Heights and surrounding communities providing social, physical, educational, creative, seasonal, and community support programs. We are looking for motivated people to facilitate our afterschool childrens program for the 2024-2025 school year for children ranging in age from 4 - 12 years old.</p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><ol><li>Program Oversight and Coordination:<ul><li>Planning and Delivery: Coordinate the planning and execution of the After-School Program, ensuring it aligns with Ontarios After School Program Guidelines for 2024/2025. Develop and implement engaging physical education, recreational, and nutrition activities for children aged 4 to 12 years.</li><li>Program Space Management: Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the program space, including maintaining equipment and supplies in safe working condition.</li></ul></li><li>Staff and Volunteer Management:<ul><li>Coordination: Oversee and support Program Coordinators, guiding them in areas such as accident incident reports, registrations, attendance, and supplies.</li><li>Mentoring: Provide guidance and support to program mentors and/or volunteers ensuring they effectively contribute to the programs success.</li></ul></li><li>Safety and Incident Management:<ul><li>Supervision: Supervise participants and staff to ensure a safe and secure environment, responding to critical incidents in accordance with the Clubs policies and procedures.</li><li>Incident Reporting: Coordinate with Program Coordinators regarding accident incident reports and ensure all safety protocols are followed.</li></ul></li><li>Administrative and Communication Duties:<ul><li>Attendance and Registration: Monitor and manage program attendance, including making phone calls to parents if children do not show up and updating participant lists as needed.</li><li>Supplies and Inventory: Oversee the inventory of program materials and equipment, ensuring all resources are well-stocked and in good condition.</li><li>Snack Preparation: Prepare and manage snacks for participants, adhering to health and safety standards.</li></ul></li><li>Stakeholder Communication:<ul><li>Liaison: Communicate with parents/guardians, school principals, caretakers, and other stakeholders regarding program updates, participant progress, and any issues of concern.</li><li>Community Partnerships: Work with outside community partners to enhance program delivery and community involvement.</li></ul></li><li>Policy Enforcement and Conflict Resolution:<ul><li>Policy Adherence: Enforce program policies and procedures, including disciplinary actions when necessary. Address conflicts and manage behavior promptly using approved techniques.</li></ul></li><li>Other Duties:<ul><li>Additional Tasks: Perform other related tasks as assigned by the Program Manager and Supervisors. This may include attending special events, training sessions, or additional administrative tasks.</li></ul></li></ol><p><br /></p><p>Qualifications:</p><ul><li>Degree/diploma or working towards post-secondary education in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Child & Youth Care, Social Services, or a related program. (mandatory)</li><li>Demonstrated experience working with children aged 4 to 12 years in a structured environment.</li><li>Strong skills in one or more of the following areas: sports, arts, recreation, education, health, and nutrition.</li><li>Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team in a dynamic and complex environment.</li><li>Strong skills in supervision and program planning, with a track record of successfully managing activities and ensuring a positive environment.</li><li>Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle various situations promptly and effectively.</li><li>Ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain accurate records, and ensure program safety.</li><li>Flexibility to work after-school hours, PA Days, and occasional evenings as required.</li><li>Safe Food Handler certification. <em> (Asset)</em></li><li>Current Standard First Aid and CPR-C certification <em>(mandatory)</em></li><li>Police Reference Check (to be completed upon hiring) <em>(mandatory)</em></li><li>Certification in HIGH FIVE - Principles of Healthy Child Development training<em> (Asset)</em></li></ul><p><br /></p><p>BGC Weston Mount Dennis & Lawrence Heights Club encourages applications from the local community and from equity-seeking groups.
